GSS nightmare?
yk and ed: what is this GPS map thing?
Last week I told the sixoneders i wanna learn driving when i go back to sch in year 5.... but the response from yock, mei and wm in the car was.... so........dunno leh, maybe i will be forced to put in effort to recognise roads etc?
I think out of all the GSS each year, I think i participated most in this year's. And I bought most number of shoes for this GSS too. But then not all are pretty comfortable... that's y I aint satisfied.
Thurs night was rushing this fabric box for my office who needs one for a client. First time using fabric and it's last minute, so I almost tear my hair down. will show u all when my box webby is up (which is god knows when i will be able to do it) or come ask me and i send u the pic personally. :) Argh i didnt take clear photos of it.... darn....
Last night or until this morning, I had a terrible dream. I forgot most of it except the last part. I was shopping for shoes. And without knowing the price, I juz told the attendant that i want it. Later when i am at the cashier, i asked how much and he said $690. OMG.... erm ok.... and when i got the bill and abt to sign it.... it said $1380.... and when i asked why, he said 690 for EACH SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kao, that would be the most exp shoes i ever buy.... 1380... almost a month's pay. As i walked down the streets, I felt more and more terrible. Finally thanks to the spraying of mosquito-killing fumes outside my block, I woke up to the horrible smell and was GREATLY RELIEVED that this is all a dream!!! nightmare hahaha......

boyfren criteria??
I no longer believe in setting criterias for ur dream bf etc.... cos it doesnt work most of the time. Many ppl after getting attached or falling in love all said to me, "Ya, in the end the person u are with can be so different from what u THINK u want. so no point setting criterias. When it comes, it comes......" But well, for daydreaming or brief guidelines, it is good to set some basic or specific impt ones so at least u know what u want. dun blur blur and ended up knowing wat u dun want, as a result can be too late or have to hurt someone.
Anyway, juz a little 'daydreaming' for me here. I am thinking that it will be good if my bf have a car, and/or drives a car.... not becos i want a rich bf, or simply love car lifts. But becos I will never have to worry about being lost on the streets that much anymore. I know someone will come and pick me up, someone able to save me from the labrinyth of street signs and streetscape. There is this great sense of security and someone to fall on.... someone who will take care of me... and that I dun have to worry abt this phobia of being lost somewhere. I know he will be there when I am lost. It would be the most comforting, romantic, relieving, happy sensation that one can feel. But of cos without car, he can still be there for me la but juz that car will make things more convenient for him and me :)
Secondly, I like to look out of the windows to enjoy the scenery passing by. Some sort of tranquility, peace, and urban appreciation abt this..... Ever since a kid, I like to look out of bus windows and enjoy the wind (non air-con buses last time).... den also looking at the roads, trees etc... very nice..... so in his car, i can enjoy more stuff..... and he can also bring me ard singapore to look at new places i dunno of and those I would like to explore... yes i know i am a pseudo-singaporean who doesnt know alot of places here... so i would like my bf to bring me ard and having a car helps alot...... so.....
the conclusion is, it will be a great bonus if my bf has a car and drives it :)

St James Power House
I think I havent mentioned about my working environment here, haha.... been too busy since I started work. Anyway my colleagues are those who loved
drinking and sometimes go
clubbing. One of them told me that years ago when there's a french guy in the office, many of the people were like super into drinking, almost everyday.... as they need the energy and boost for their work. Can understand la, when u have site meetings etc at 6:15pm that kinda thing. It sux. so ok.... But now they cut down already since the french guy left. oh but still, I have stepped into a
more adult world or society.... I am pretty still scared to mix into that society.... I realised how out of the adult world or from the rest when i realised i cant eat this and that (u know i eat processed meat), never do this and that, and many many more until my colleagues think I am still a xiao mei mei though i am this age already. So all this while I am trying to change abit, not for the pure sake of being able to mix into the real society, but correcting my way of thinking and habit, for eg. trying to accept more 'natural' meat. My colleagues love to eat duck, pig internals kinda things.... at least i ate some duck meat liao but still would avoid if i can....
My office culture seems to be on the
higher than average class. They love delicacies, drive own cars, buy good stuff etc... Last fri was a contractor's bdae and he treated us to a lunch at Asia Hotel's Asia Grand Restaurant..... Good food yummy~ And learnt from one of them that they always come here to eat. No wonder the waitresses are like fren fren with us. we are regular customers...... oh man haha.
Yesterday I woke up at 4 plus pm, and really wanna nua at home, but at abt 6 plus pm I am finally convinced to go
st james with some of the colleagues. The place is cool ~ though the weather was bad, it rained heavily while I was on my way there at 9 plus, close to 10pm. I seldom come out at this time.... :( Great company~ and one of my team leaders treated us to
tequila shots!!! I finally tried my
FIRST shot in my life.... see, wat I mean when I said I am stepping into the real adult society? I am like a xiao mei mei (sua gu aka mountain tortoise would be too crude to describe myself), so all my colleagues there were like trying to force me to gulp down the shot fast. haha it was quite a scene.. they wish to see me drunk. Later when we hop around to different clubs, they kept drinking shots..... cos they dun feel high enuff..... omg... i of cos reject the shots.... that first shot gave me a slight headache for like 10-15 mins but it went off after that la. reached home at 3am... haha but ok la, pretty fun but not high enuff for them, and ok for me. I think they going to organise a zouk one becos one korean guy (client's son) is leaving soon so we are going to party again before he flies off back to States to study. hmmm~ after 1 year, i wonder wat would become of me. I think mostly would be my way of thinking.

Boring life
As everyone's having work, our routine and lifestyles differ so much so that it's difficult to have gatherings.... and left weekends to arrange for anything. But, as our work has tired us out during the horrible 5 days, weekends are the 2 pathetic days for us to rest at home, enjoy quiet time of our own and they passed by so quickly! So even if i wanna go out with frens, I dun feel like going out on weekends unless there's a special occassion or something. else my bones wouldnt want to move.... this is saddening.... so boring but so tired too.... helpless...
Worse, I still have my 2 major sch work to do....one is an exhibition project which i had to do an installation art based on architecture theme and we have to hold in like next year but need to prepare from now as there's alot of things to settle.... and he schedule is tight. Dissertation is again a year long thing. And to make things much worse, I am doing this gift box biz... hehe which is a little hobby and interest :) Ok la, so many things to do but happy la.... Juz super super TIRED! and i need to brush up on my time management skills.
Right, here's my jc grp photo which i dig out and scan recently :) I look so ..... obedient, youthful, cheerful..... now I looked like old hag liao with tired smiles... reminded me of the song we always sang in my JC: 溪水长流 ( not sure if i get the title characters rite). I want to stay at 19 FOREVER!!!!

Sunday mini gathering + a new pic
I think Jovie had done a good job in describing today's outing. Well shall mention it again. Though it's only 4 of us: jov, mei, gab and me, the size is good enuff for all to take part in conversations. We had western food at Cafe Cartel in PS (haha, one of the malls i frequent most recently due to getting materials from spotlight for my boxes). Yea in case some of u dont know, I am running a little gift boxes business on my own, small scale one.... My aim is to sell arts and crafts and not those commercial type. Maybe next time if i have more business and things get steady, i will have a branch for that i hope. Right now i am busy coping with sch work, work and this... abit difficult ya? yea so business publicity is verbal passing via ppl's mouth for now. wait til i am settled with experimenting. ok back to the lunch:
After that, we continued to wait for ahba to come and so we went to somewhere nearby for towhuay, the famous stall one. But the environment sux... very warm, poor ventilation. and when i am in my thick black shirt, i felt super uncomfortable. immediately after eating, we left the place for Parco Bugis which has AIRCON! It's sooothing but still not enuff to let us feel cool quickly. Me and mei went in shops to look at clothes while jov and gab talking outside. So in the end i managed to get my watches and finally nearing the mrt, I saw something suitable as my hp pouch (thanks to sweden's climate that destroyed many of my leathery stuff. They simply cracked and peeled, worse than snake shedding off skin). Luckily I refrained myself from getting a pair of black pump shoes which is comfortable and by experience, it is something not easy to come by for covered shoes. so... having nice company while completing my shopping list today makes me a super happy julie.... ok maybe i left one or two necessary stuff to get but those can wait. :) yay!! a rather broke but happy me. like jov said, now i have no more excuse to do shopping :p
Ok last but not least, I finally did a new pic for myself (again) which marks the theme from today onwards. "Reborn": a new stage of life. Yes, after all this time and many things happening and changing, finally I feel that I am stepping into a new lap of life.... that breaks some unnecessary rules and restrictions of thoughts that i had set myself at. And getting to know more abt myself, approaching my dimensions of life, etc etc etc. Today when I was walking home, I feel so free as a bird that my legs felt as if they are walking on air like i am flying. Loving myself, loving the things i do, enjoying every moments of life, with the nature, myself and people ard me. Ahhhh~~~ has my life reached a new level of meaningfulness? I feel perfectly in control.
A tranquil moment is...... a bright sunny day when the fields are filled with dandelions, and the wind brings out the aroma of coffee and carries the little dandelions up towards the sky....

Jellybeans
Weeks ago my sis bought a can of Jellybeans from Candy Empire at Vivo. And it brought back memories of my childhood days eating jellybeans for a period of time. Their flavours and taste were faded to almost forgotten in my mind. One night, my sis and I were abit bo liao... and we had a tasting ceremony on them. There are like 28 flavours stated on the plastic can but we doubt that all flavours are in the jar, anyway here's a photo of our findings aka conclusion. mad but good reference for those who wanna try jellybeans next time :)

Later we walked around and went up in One George Street to enjoy the night scenery at the sky garden and pool, and sky gym. super nice! hehe.... den we went in to see their toilets (nice sink!) and we took a photo of our reflections from this huge piece of mirror... yea i am the one holding the cam here. Notice my much shorter hair?

The NUS Architecture Graduation Exhibition- "How does your garden grow?"
I am grateful and honoured that my Thesis Project is selected for this exhibition. Honestly speaking, the process had went through multiple changes, and many horrible late nights, stayovers in the computer studios, having Macs for almost every day towards submission period... Much worse is the physical tiredness, mental tireness and depression and all.... Every bit of progress is difficult, full of obstacles and never a smooth path. I won't be able to pull through without encouragement and help from friends and family. Thank you so much!
Opening Day
Date: Saturday, 13 Jun '09
Time: 7:30pm
Venue: Iluma Urban Entertainment Centre
201 Victoria Street Singapore 188067, Level 7 (@Sky garden for the opening ceremony)

My Exhibition Installation @ NUS Museum, UCC - from 7 March to 7 May "Site, Spectator, Situation"
This exhibition project is collaborated among NUS Dept. of Architecture, University Scholar Programme(USP) and NUS Museum for my USP Final Year Project. The opening ceremony and presentation on 6 March was a success! Thanks to Noora (NUS Museum), Lilian Chee (Supervisor from Archi) and the departments for their support and those who turn up and those who visited my installation! :)
My installation is a collage of maps collected during my travels. It is a "Mind" map that existed in my mind based on experiences and memories of places. Hence, it's a cognitive map that is subjective to everyone. Hopefully, this installation will be placed somewhere else later and I'll inform you if it happens. If you drop by UCC, feel free to take a look!
3 other students' works are at NUS Arts Canteen, Kampong Glam and lastly in Museum (level 1).

Kaleidoscope 2007 Exhibition 27-28th Oct 2007
@ Suntec-MY. PLAYGr0und
It was kinda rush as I only had a sunday to colour up the whole thing. Thanks to my anime friend who encouraged me all the way as I felt like giving up halfway several times then. There are other students and studios participating in this exhibition, such as Imaginary Friends Studios (IFS). Many wonderful artworks. Hopefully more NUS ppl take part!!
